Dr. C. R. McTavish passes suddenly - Tavistock Gazette, April 17, 1930 - Death came with startling suddenness and removed one of our prominent professionals in the person of Dr. Charles Russell McTavish, about nine o'clock on Friday evening, after an illness of only one day. He had been around on his professional duties as usual the first part of the week and on Thursday contracted pneumonia. Medical attention and the assistance of a trained nurse was called in but the malady had gained such rapid headway that nothing could be done to save him.
