Henry Krantz (1846-1911)

Born in Poland, Russia in 1846. Came to Canada with his parents when he was about 6 years of age and settled in South Easthope. When he was 17 years of age he came to Tavistock and learned the carpenter trade with his brother-in-law Henry Fuhr. At one time one of the most prominent builders and contractors in these parts. Died December 18, 1911.

Married twice - Miss Katharina Rausch and Miss Christena Wettlaufer (Aug. 1877).

9 children - Mrs. M. Whaley, Brooksdale; Mrs. A. Carmicjael, Woodstock; Mrs. H. Hitzeroth, Waterloo; Miss Amelia Krantz, Tavistock; John, Hamilton; Henry, Waterloo; Elton, Tavistock. Brother John Krantz, South Easthope and sister Mrs. Behrnwald, Stratford.
