Adam Schaefer (1845-1899)
Married Marie Kalbfleisch (1848-1919).
1869 formed a partnership with his brother-in-law John Kalbfleisch and erected a factory, planing mill and furniture. 1878 began manufacturing organs. 1892 partnership dissolved and he purchased a milling industry at Callendar, Nipissing. 1899 purchased the planing mill and furniture factory owned by H.B.Wilker. Died when a portion of a plank he was sawing was thrown back with great force, striking him in the abdomen. He was at once conveyed to his son's residence close by. Dr. Neimeier and Dr. Rankin of Stratford attended him, but he died next morning.
Survived by wife and sons - Jacob and Wm. at Callander, Ezra at Spokane, Washington, Fred at Tavistock; daughters Lydia Loth at Tavistock and Mrs. Rev. Schuelke. Buried at Sebastopol.
