The Eel Racehorse - owned by Frank Entricken of Tavistock - world's champion pacer

Photographer John Lemp was a brother-in-law and great friend of Frank Howard Leslie. According to his great-grandson Scott Leslie, F H owned the newspaper in Tavistock from 1900 to 1904 then moved to Niagara Falls to purchase the Niagara Falls Review (a daily newspaper). F.H. purchased the Gazette a second time in 1910, running things from a distance in Niagara Falls. Scott thought he bought it back because he was owed money on the original sale. Leslie sold it again in 1914.
John Lemp likely influenced his brother-in-law's interest in photography. As time went on F. H. saw the potential in postcards and became a printer and wholesaler of them and of guidebooks as well. F.H. eventually took photos for a number of his postcards personally in the 1920s and into the 1950s.
The publisher of this card is listed as F. H. Leslie, Niagara Falls, Canada. It is numbered S 72/15. It is thought to be circa 1912. There is no mention of John Lemp as photographer.
