In the looping room of '34, the ladies sewed the toes of the socks shut, mostly by hand. They were then tied in bundles of 24 (two dozen), Shown from left to right are Verna Mae Bender, Hilda Youngblut, Sally Erb, Edna Zehr, Clara Zehr, Margaret Keutsch, Bessie Lebegut; Beulah Keutsch, Edna Neeb and Alberta Schmidt.
