This photo appeared in the July 7, 1938 issue of the Tavistock Gazette with the following caption.

"Above is a very good photograph of Woodstock Street South taken just before the leaves came out. The Gazette's photographer was standing on Hope Street West when he snapped this street scene. On the left is shown the business block of Robert Walter. Heading south are the Woelfle Block, in which are the business places of Klein Brothers, M. Woelfle & Son and Pletsch Radio and Electric; the Baechler Block, in which are the business places of Dick Keutsch and Joe Steinman. Next to that is H. Weicker's butcher shop. The next building houses the business place of G. Eifert & Son, and next to that is Krug's Furniture Store. Further down the street are the business places of the Tavistock Seed and Feed, W.O. Alles and T.A. Jickling and C. Strahm and Son. To the right of the picture is the Square and part of the Glasgow Warehouse, in which building are found the Tavistock Variety Store, H. Koerber's boot & shoe store and G. Schindler's meat shop."
