Built by Thomas J. Loveys c. 1883, the store and post office was originally operated by James and Susan Vance. It was also used as a ticket office for the railway before the new station was built in 1904. It was purchased by the Wilfred Rowe family in 1905, burned in 1912, and immediately rebuilt in a similar style. It became a general store until about 1957 and then was sold and made into 4 apartments. It has been owned by several people over the years and has had many renovations. Now 86 Loveys Street / Oxford Road 8 in Hickson.
