The fisherman is believed to be C.J. (Charlie) Kaufman who was born in Cassel in 1888; was a businessman in Tavistock; and died in 1966.
This is one of the prettiest postcards of Tavistock in our collection. It is a Stedman postcard and it is not a collotype but is instead a coloured half-tone print meaning that there would have to be at least four different passes of the press each time using a different colour to get the final multi-coloured postcard. This postcard uses a photo from the Lemp collection.
