WEITZEL-WOLFE
A very pleasant event took place on Wednesday, 19 June 1901, at the residence of Mr. John Wolfe, South Easthope when his youngest daughter Sarah was married to Henry Weitzel formerly of Tavistock now of Elmira. The parlour was appropriately decorated. An arch of evergreens was placed across the corner having a horseshoe of roses and locust blossoms in the centre. At half past 6'clock Miss Annie Weitzel struck the notes of "Wyman's Wedding Bells" and the groom with his brother, Werner appeared under the arch, shortly after the bride came in resting gently on the arm of her father. She was becomingly attired in white organdie wearing the customary bridal veil and caring a bouquet of orange blossoms. She was supported by her sister Lydia who was dressed in pale blue mercerized lawn and carried a bouquet of pink bellflowers. The ceremony was performed by Rev. G. O. Kaatz of New Hamburg in a very impressive manner.
After the ceremony the guests, about seventy in number, sat down to a richly set table. The presents were numerous, useful and costly. There were guests present from Taylor, Elmira, Milverton, New Hamburg, Tavistock, Shakespeare and North and South Easthope. We wish them a happy a prosperous life.
