Enlisted: November 12, 1915 with 71st Battalion Tavistock
Trained: He had been a member of the 22nd Oxford Rifles 2 years in Woodstock, Ontario. In England, at Bramshot, he trained how to use the Lewis Machine Gun. He was moved into the 44th Battalion, from Altershott. He landed in France August 12th, 1916 at Le Havre. He was an expert rifleman. He became a Captain of the Canadian Bisley Team.
Served: France from November 12th, 1915 - September 15th, 1919. He was wounded at Vimy on March 3rd, 1917.
After the War: There was a parade in Cassel when he came home. At home, he went back to farming.
