This snap would be taken in the teens on the ice above the mill dam north of Plattsville, it was a measured track about a 1/4 mile from the dam to the 14th bridge. The horses came to race from Tavistock to Kitchener and places in between. They were not brought to the track in a truck, or trailer. They had special shoes for running on the ice. There is no record of the numbmer of horses or how many races or the dates of the races.
