Charles Zoellner built the residence and drug store in 1875. The building had a series of owners (Naysmith, Dr. Niemeier, Dr. Steele, George A. Ross, James Scott, J. Brawn). John Lemp purchased the building in 1905. His son Leonard joined the business in 1928 and carried on until 1977.
